I received SO MANY recommendations for pho and Vietnamese food in the DMV that I needed to make a list. Here is my list of Vietnamese restaurants that I highly recommend.
Down below, I also included Vietnamese restaurants that are on my To Be Tasted (TBT) list. Follow me to find out if #imabowliever!
Must Try DMV Vietnamese Restaurants
#1 Pho Duong – BEST spot in the DMV for pho.
Pho Duong (pronounced fuh zuung or yuung) is the best spot for pho in the DMV. Don’t bother going anywhere else.
@ilovebowljobs Replying to @sftw7004 DMV ➡️ MUST TRY pho spot in Centreville! 🍜🤤 #imabowliever Pho Duong has multiple locations and their pho is so good! I love that they have all the necessary condiments so you can customize your pho to exactly how you like it. And the ratio of meat, broth, and noodles is perfect.👌🏽 I’m excited to go back and try their other Vietnamese dishes. Who wants to join me? 😅 I’m new to the DMV and I need food buddies! 😋 #dmvfoodie #pho #vietfood #dmvfoodie ♬ original sound – I Love Bowl Jobs 🍜
#2 Saigon Bistro
I tried the bun rieu (crab and tofu tomato noodle soup) here and it’s pretty solid. They do not offer traditional veggies with their bun rieu.
We also got the com tam (rice plates), and it was decent, but the nuoc cham (fish sauce) was too light. I prefer mine more pungent, sweet, AND tangy.
@ilovebowljobs Replying to @T O R I CHANTILLY ➡️ Excited to have a tasty Vietnamese spot near my new home! 🍜🏡 #imabowliever Hit up @saigonbistrova in Chantilly and Sterling! 😋 #vietfood #dmvfoodie #dmvfood #dmvtiktok ♬ original sound – I Love Bowl Jobs 🍜
#3 Pho Supplies Store
And making your own pho is home is not hard, but it’s hard to make it well.
I love checking out the Pho Supplies Store for all my pho-making needs.
@ilovebowljobs DMV ➡️ Pho Supplies Store 🍜 Checked out this hidden gem in Virginia. Still prefer bigger stores for the variety. But if you’re only making pho or other Viet dishes, check this spot out! #imabowliever #phosupplies #dmvfoodie #dmvfood #phoislife ♬ original sound – I Love Bowl Jobs 🍜

Do Not Recommend (DNR)
I hate to leave a bad review. But even more, I hate to waste money.
Here are Vietnamese spots that you should avoid.
- Doi Moi – This is a fake Vietnamese restaurant. I was so disappointed in the food. The fruity drinks are good, though.
- Pho 75 – I know this place has die-hard fans, but Pho 75 is cheap and substandard, and you can taste it. There are better spots out there. They also charge extra for vinegar onions (hành giám). This was my first pho test in the DMV.
@ilovebowljobs DMV ➡️ My FIRST phở in DC! 🍜 Today I’m checking out Pho 75 in Arlington. They are a cash only establishment and their pho is the most affordable in the area. The pho is average and you’ll have to pay for extras.🥲 I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here. My quest for the best DMV phở continues!!! 🧐 It was so hot and humid! But that didn’t stop me. Definitely bring a handheld fan for some relief! #dmvfoodie #dmvfood #dmvtiktok #dmvfoodblogger #dmvblogger #dmvlife #dmveats #ilovebowljobs #phoislife ♬ Countless – Official Sound Studio
