Best Pizza Spots in Denver

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Surprisingly, Denver is a pizza town! The Mile High City even has its own pizza, which is drizzled with honey.

Here is our guide to the best slices in Denver and beyond.

Best Pizza Spots in Denver

#1 Marco’s Coal Fired Pizza

Toscana Pizza from Marcos Coal Fired Pizza
Toscana Pizza

We love Marco’s Coal Fired Neopolitan pies made with imported Italian ingredients.

My favorite pizza is their Toscana. It’s topped with arugula and freshly shaved prosciutto. It’s SO GOOD and always puts me in a good mood.

They also sell other delicious plates such as the burrata and pesto appetizer, tiramisu, and Caesar salads.

#2 Fat Sully’s/Atomic Cowboy

$7 Slice and Beer Deal (after 9PM)

We stumbled in here one evening and found out Fat Sully’s $7 one-topping pizza plus draft pint deal after 9 PM (Sunday through Thursday)! Their NY slices are HUGE and have a delectable yet crispy crust. The red sauce they use is also amazing!

We need to come back during happy hour for their $8 burgers and biscuit sandwiches.

#3 PZA

PZA makes tasty sourdough pizzas. The quality is excellent, but I tend to ask for fewer ingredients because they really pack it on, and it makes the pizza heavy.

Their pies are also huge, so expect to share!

#4 Redeemer

Redeemer makes an amazing NY pizza! The crust is thin. And during happy hour, you can buy an entire pie for $13!

#5 Cart Driver (LoHi Only)

I LOVE the clam pizza at Cart Driver in LoHi.

We’ve been to the RiNo location before but were served an undercooked pie, and neither the staff nor the tiny space were welcoming.

#6 Pie Hole

People say Pie Hole is good for drunk munchies, but I LOVE their pies. They offer NY-style pies with a crispy crust and interesting toppings such as potato and even dill.

#7 Happy Camper

We ordered a cast-iron pizza from Happy Camper once, and it was SO GOOD! Their homemade ranch is also to die for!

To be Tasted (TBT)

  • Bar Dough
  • Beau Jo’s – A girl’s gotta try a Colorado pizza at least once in her life.
  • Blue Pan Pizza
  • Cosmo’s
  • Da Sauce
  • Dough Counter
  • Full Afterburner Calzones
  • Gattara
  • Jimano’s
  • JoeyParms
  • Pizzeria Leopold
  • Rosalee’s Pizzeria

Do Not Recommend (DNR)

  • Joy Hill – The pizza was way too salty. Actually, EVERYTHING we tried was way too salty. I couldn’t finish anything.
  • Sliceworks – Slices are authentic thin NY slices, but the flavors were only ok. There was barely any sauce on my pizza.
