I LOVE soups because they’re easy to digest and so healing. I also love a night out with friends and a good cocktail.
Below is our guide for the best soups to cure your hangover.
Best Hangover Soups
#1 Pho

Pho (pronounced “fuh”) can be found pretty much anywhere. It’s a big part of post-drinking culture for many Vietnamese-Americans.
It’s a rich beef rice noodle soup served with slices of meat, and fresh veggies.

#5 Kimchi Jjigae (Soup)
Kimchi Jjigae is one of my favorite Korean soups! It’s also surprisingly easy to make.
It’s typically a chicken broth with kimchi, slices or chunks of pork belly, cooked with sliced white and green onions. It’s so flavorful and healing.

#6 Chicken Noodle Soup
Chicken noodle soup is great for healing, but a really good one is rarely easy to come by.
#7 Menudo
Use another animal’s gut to heal your gut. Menudo is made from cow stomach lining and served in a thick, oily red broth.
It’s typically served on weekends in many Mexican restaurants.
#8 Korean Hangover Soup (Haejang Guk)
Korean cuisine has its own hangover soup, Haejang Guk. Beef bones are cooked for hours until the collagen thickens the broth. It’s also very hearty and filled with meat, vegetables and noodles.
#9 Korean Army Stew

Army stew (budae jjigae) was an inexpensive way to feed soldiers in the Korean army, hence the name.
The introduction of SPAM into Korean culture allowed them to create a stew that was meant to be shared and was easy to make yet somewhat hearty and nutritious. Army Stew can include instant ramen noodles, tofu, veggies, rice cakes, fish cakes, and sausages/hot dogs.
#10 Banh Canh Cua (Vietnamese Crab Udon Soup)
Honestly, any Vietnamese soup works, but Bánh Canh Cua is made with silky udon noodles.
When the noodles are cooked, starch is released, and the soup becomes very thick and creamy.
It makes for a very healing soup with lots of flavor.
#11 Braised Beef Noodle Soup

We couldn’t leave Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine out. Braised beef is cooked for hours until the meat is tender and melts in your mouth. It’s served with flour noodles in a beef broth and bok choy.
We also love Biang Biang noodles. These thick, hand-stretched noodles are great for absorbing everything you want out of your body.
#12 Vietnamese Porridge (Cháo)

Porridge (or cháo in Vietnamese) is not exactly a soup, but it’s thick, flavorful, and EXTREMELY healing. It’s typically a rice porridge cooked until the grains are soft and melt in your mouth.
Porridge can have various toppings and can be eaten with deep-fried Chinese donuts.
